Examine cell samples under a microscope and identify any abnormalities or signs of disease.
Prepare and stain cell samples for analysis.
Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Keep detailed and accurate records of all findings and test results.
Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to review and confirm findings.
Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Continuously stay updated on new techniques, technologies, and procedures in the field of cytology.
Provide guidance and training to new laboratory staff or students.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory services and processes.
Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation agency requirements.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards colleagues, patients, and their families.
