CytotechnologistEvaluation and reporting of negative gynecological cases, evaluation, and interpretation of abnormal gynecological, non-gynecological and fine needle aspiration cases.Cytotechnologists are responsible for identifying diagnostic material and referring cases to the pathologists appropriately.Serve as a member of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) team providing on site adequacy evaluation of FNA procedures. Provide technical advice and perform cytopreparation and processing as needed. Must maintain records of screening slide counts and other activities.Maintain Quality Control records where indicated.Assist in gathering data relevant to quality assurance activities, continuous improvement activities and/or other special projects.New Graduates are welcome!Preferred Qualifications: recent hospital-based experienceLicense Required: Illinois does not require a cytology license.

Just CT(ASCP) certificate is needed.Certificates Required: Bachelor's degree in either Cytotechnology, Biology, or Life Sciences & successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP accredited Cytotechnology program. Candidate must be CT (ASCP) certified.
