Are you an experienced Cytotechnologist looking to join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to making a difference in the health and well-being of our community? Highmark Health is looking for a Cytotechnologist who will join our team and bring a high level of technical skill, knowledge, and the ability to interact with patients. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and examination of cells and tissue samples in order to detect abnormal cell growth and diagnosis of disease.The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor's degree in a biological science, have completed an accredited Cytotechnology program, and be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP). In addition, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of cytology experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Adhere to the standards and regulations set by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
Ensure accuracy and consistency of all work performed.
Maintain organized records of all cytology tests and results.
Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
Stay up to date on emerging technologies, methods, and regulations.
Train and mentor other cytotechnologists.
Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment when necessary.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficient workflow.
