As a Cytotechnologist, you will be responsible for examining cells under a microscope to identify abnormalities and assist in the early detection of cancer. Analyze and interpret test results with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of test results, including detailed descriptions and diagrams of abnormal cells.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Stay up-to-date with advancements and developments in the field of cytology and implement new techniques and technologies as needed.
Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Perform quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
Train and supervise new cytotechnologists and/or laboratory assistants.
Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Continuously strive for improvement and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
Attend and participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities.
Maintain all required certifications and stay current with continuing education requirements.
