Job Title: Travel Cyto Tech
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cytology, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic testing, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in specimen analysis. As a Cytotechnologist, you will be responsible for preparing and examining cellular samples, interpreting test results, and ensuring compliance with laboratory standards. Weekly Gross Pay: $2,476.00
Weekly Taxable Pay: $600.00
Weekly Nontaxable: $1,876.00
Minimum 2 Years' experience in Cyto Tech:
Genie Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Cyto Techto fill an opening located in Augusta, GA for $61.90/hr. (Taxed+ nontaxed)
Requirements of Cyto Tech:
● Must have AHA BLS required.
● License: ASCP-CT
● Must have 2 years of Cyto Tech experience

Responsibilities of Cyto Tech:
• Shift: 8 Hr. Day shift
• Shift details: 8.00 AM to 5.30 PM
• Guaranteed: 40 hours/week. (5*8)
• 14-week contract
• Prepare and analyze cellular specimens using microscopy, ensuring accurate identification of abnormal cells.
• Perform routine cytological procedures including specimen collection, processing, and slide preparation.
• Utilize laboratory information management systems (LIS) to document findings and manage data efficiently.
• Conduct specialized assays such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, and immunoassays to support diagnostic testing.
• Implement laboratory quality control protocols to maintain high standards of accuracy and safety.
• Assist in the development and validation of new cytology tests and procedures for clinical trials or research purposes.
• Operate medical laboratory equipment including blood analyzers, centrifuges, and microscopes with precision.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on specimen collection, blood banking, and physiology-related assessments.
• Maintain detailed records of test results, specimen processing steps, and laboratory activities in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Support laboratory management tasks such as inventory control, equipment maintenance, and staff training.
Skills
• Extensive knowledge of cytotechnology principles, laboratory techniques, and diagnostic test interpretation.
• Proficiency in data management systems including Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Strong experience with molecular biology methods such as RNA extraction, DNA isolation, PCR, and related assays.
• Familiarity with flow cytometry, immunoassays, hematology procedures, and blood banking practices.
• Excellent data analysis skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting of results.
• Ability to perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), specimen collection/processing, and blood sampling following aseptic techniques.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory standards.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing laboratory quality control protocols within a hospital or research setting.
• Competence in operating medical equipment safely while adhering to laboratory safety standards.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals on diagnostic testing and patient care initiatives.
