Job Description
The pharmacist provides quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring medication therapy and developing clinical pharmacy programs. They also manage order entry, dispense medications, and supervise technical staff to ensure accurate patient care.
The pharmacist provides quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring patients’ medication therapy and assist in developing a clinical pharmacy program. They will also recommend appropriate drug therapy and serve as an educational resource to patients and other health care professionals. The pharmacist also utilizes a computer system to enter orders, dispense medications and intravenous solutions to patients in an accurate and timely manner and supervises technical employees. The pharmacist checks all technical work before doses are dispensed.
Qualifications
Education
from an accredited School of Pharmacy, ASHP accredited residency (PGY-1), current BCPS certification, or equivalent direct clinical experience (with BCPS/specialist Board certification eligibility) required.
Experience
- Health system experience preferred but not required.
- Licenses,
- Certifications and/or
- Registrations: Current licensure in the State of Alabama, controlled substances permit, parenteral license, preceptor license (when
eligible), BCLS provider (ACLS preferred).
Requirements
Candidates must hold a degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy and have completed an ASHP accredited residency. Current licensure in Alabama, BCPS certification, and relevant clinical certifications like BCLS or ACLS are required.
