Job Description
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Pain Management & Oncology
Join a leading nonprofit teaching hospital and become part of an award-winning Pain Management & Oncology team.
This pharmacist will serve as one of three clinical pharmacy experts in the area of pain and oncology management providing individualized patient pain regimen consultations and oncology services to inpatients.
WILL CROSS-TRAIN Pain/Oncology
Responsibilities:
• Provide expert pain management consultations for acute, chronic, breakthrough, and neuropathic pain.
• Monitor and manage inpatient chemotherapy therapies, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
• Oversee chemotherapy compounding and dispensing processes.
• Collaborate with oncology, palliative care, hospitalist, anesthesia, and hospice teams.
• Support opioid stewardship initiatives and optimize pain management practices.
• Help develop clinical guidelines, policies, order sets, and formulary recommendations.
• Precept PGY1 residents and pharmacy students.
• Participate in quality improvement projects, presentations, and multidisciplinary committees.
Requirements:
• PharmD required.
• PGY1 residency completion or 2+ years of acute care hospital pharmacy experience.
• PGY2 in Oncology, Pain/Palliative Care, or related experience
Compensation & Benefits
• $80-$110 per hour
• (Pharmacist just completing a PGY1 will come in at $80/hour)
• (Pharmacist just completing a PGY2 will come in at $84/hour)
• $10,000 sign-on bonus
