Role Overview
This nursing position involves providing direct patient care on a surgical floor and intermediate care unit, focusing on patients undergoing innovative surgeries such as bariatric, plastic reconstruction, minimally invasive, endocrine oncology, and ophthalmology procedures. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
Key Responsibilities
• Promote patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, home care, and medication administration.
• Participate in ensuring patient safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and document care plans with clear goals, ensuring effective communication across care settings.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, cultural, and spiritual factors.
• Maintain alertness and safety awareness as this position is safety-sensitive.
Qualifications & Skills
• Educational requirements include a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensure as an RN is required; no prior experience necessary, but less than two years of experience and supervisory experience are preferred.
