Key Responsibilities
• Lead the inpatient medical oncology unit, ensuring the delivery of safe and evidence-based nursing care.
• Coordinate individual patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Supervise and mentor bedside nurses, offering valuable coaching, feedback, and performance support.
• Manage admission, treatment, and discharge processes to optimize quality, safety, and the overall patient experience.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, implement quality improvement initiatives, and uphold accreditation standards.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure appropriate nurse-patient ratios.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, symptom management, and post-discharge care.
• Support the implementation of clinical protocols, best practices in oncology, and infection prevention standards.
• Utilize electronic health records for accurate documentation of care, outcome tracking, and to promote effective care coordination.
