OVERVIEW
At Orion, we are seeking a Clinical Informatics Consultant to support oncology clinical operations by optimizing workflows and oncology clinical applications for various hospitals in the Chicago area. This opportunity acts as the liaison between clinicians, processes, and technology to improve efficiency, data quality, and patient care outcomes within the oncology setting.

OPPORTUNITY
3-month contract with extension; Hybrid: Chicago, Illinois, USA

SALARY
$57 – $64/hour W2 contract plus benefits

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner directly with oncology clinicians to assess workflows, identify gaps, and reduce inefficiencies (including duplicate documentation).

• Provide at-the-elbow support while gathering requirements, designing solutions, testing changes, and validating outcomes.

• Configure, support, and enhance oncology clinical applications, with a strong focus on MOSAIQ.

• Lead or support moderately complex projects, including workflow redesign, system enhancements, and user acceptance testing.

• Create test scripts, support change requests, and collaborate with service desk and IT teams throughout implementation.

• Develop and deliver user training and support materials.

• Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulations, policies, and data standards.

KEY EXPERIENCE
• Hand-on experience with MOSAIQ, Linear Accelerator Technology, and Radiology Oncology Tech Stack.

• Proven experience working with Electronic Medical Records (Cerner and Epic) preferred.

• Five to ten years of oncology experience.

• Strong understanding of oncology clinical workflows and outpatient clinical operations.

• Knowledge of healthcare data, clinical documentation, and informatics principles.

• Experience with clinical terminologies and code sets (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, CPT, RxNorm, etc.).

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Informatics, Healthcare, IT or equivalent relevant experience

INTERVIEW PROCESS
• Quick turnaround: preliminary interview followed by team interview on phone and Google Meets.

• Typically, one round with the hiring manager, joined by the team (virtual interview), possibly two rounds if necessary.
