Job Summary:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Engineer Tech I to join our Edgewood Clinical Engineering Team. Shift/Hours: Full Time 40 Hours, First ShiftResponsible for providing quality, timely, and cost-effective service of clinical equipment used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Ensure medical equipment and instrumentation used for patient care is safe, reliable, and effective.Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Perform timely corrective and preventative maintenance and quality assurance testing on clinical equipment used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Evaluate equipment problems to engage appropriate staff to resolve mechanical problem(s).

Develop and implement equipment testing procedures. Test new devices and equipment.

Document service events in the C.E. database and maintain service manuals in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan.

Collaborate with medical staff to address non-routine and routine technical problems. Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards for clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment to promote a safe and functional patient care environment.

Work with independent contractors in the installation of new clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic equipment to ensure technically controlled project.

Instruct clinical staff on the safety; proper operation and maintenance of patient care instruments as needed.

Participate in on-call rotation for Clinical Engineering Department. Responds to after hours calls related to all clinical equipment supported.

Understand and comply with all organizational policies and procedures and operational standards to support a safe and organized work environment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:


-
Associate degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology (or related field) OR


-
Military experience equivalent to BMET degree OR


-
High School Diploma/GED AND 6 months of experience servicing medical equipment


-
Valid driver’s license

Basic computer skills
