Job Description

About Us

We are opening a premium, well-capitalized behavioral health facility built to disrupt the executive treatment space in the DMV region. Backed by disciplined institutional capital with existing treatment centers, we run with the operational agility of a startup and the rigorous financial modeling of a private equity sponsor.

We are seeking a highly disciplined, commercially aware Clinical Director who understands that elite clinical care and unit economics are inextricably linked. We operate a pure meritocracy without bureaucratic hospital ceilings. For an execution-oriented clinical leader, this role offers the immediate mandate to architect a flagship program from the ground up, with a direct pathway to regional executive leadership as we scale this clinical model into a multi-site platform.

We look for clinical leaders who are a pleasure to work with that lead through competence and constructive partnership rather than hierarchy or office politics. If you are an exceptional clinician who is entrepreneurial and values a direct, transparent work environment and prefers to spend your energy on patient outcomes and operational excellence, you will find this to be an ideal fit.

Position Overview

Operating exclusively on an Out-of-Network (OON) and private-pay model, our Arlington facility specializes in high-acuity Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Dual Diagnosis treatment for corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, and cleared federal professionals. We offer Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

This is a founding member role. Your mandate is to design and execute a white-glove, concierge clinical environment that drives patient retention through a full 9-to-12-week continuum of care. You are the chief risk officer for our clinical product, ensuring that every chart, progress note, and treatment plan represents an airtight defense against commercial insurance audits and Utilization Review (UR) denials.

Core Responsibilities
• Clinical Architecture & Execution: Design and operationalize evidence-based clinical protocols tailored specifically to a high-demand executive demographic. Maintain exceptional clinical standards that eliminate early AMA (Against Medical Advice) discharges and maximize patient Lifetime Value (LTV).
• Audit Defensibility & UR Integration: Supervise all clinical documentation. Implement a ruthless internal audit system to ensure total compliance with ASAM placement criteria. Partner directly with the UR team to defend medical necessity during peer-to-peer reviews, protecting facility free cash flow from retrospective clawbacks.
• Regulatory Command: Maintain unconditional, zero-variance compliance with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) and Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards.
• Talent Allocation: Recruit, train, and manage a highly specialized clinical staff capable of executing trauma-informed, dual-diagnosis, and MAT protocols while maintaining strict executive boundary management.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted clinical license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LCP, or equivalent).
• Experience: 5+ years of clinical leadership experience specifically managing licensed PHP, IOP, or residential SUD/behavioral health programs.
• Commercial Literacy: Deep structural understanding of how clinical documentation directly drives OON commercial reimbursement, utilization review authorizations, and cash flow stability.
• Executive Operations: Proven track record of managing premium, private-pay, or out-of-network clinical environments rather than high-volume Medicaid/In-Network systems.

Compensation Structure

We offer a highly competitive base salary paired with an aggressive performance structure. To align with our risk-first capital model, bonuses are completely decoupled from raw admission volume; they are tied directly to average length of stay (clinical retention) and internal audit/compliance pass rates. This rewards pristine clinical execution and provides massive, uncapped upside for an entrepreneurial leader who protects and scales the operation.
