Job Description

The Division of Hematology and Cellular Therapy at Allegheny Health Network Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated and visionary physician leader with expertise in Hematology and Cellular Therapy (HSCT and CAR-T). Join a growing and dynamic program committed to exceptional patient care and innovative research.

As the Chief, you will collaborate with the Cancer Center Chair and other leaders to develop and implement clinical strategies, ensuring the highest standards of care and maintaining necessary accreditations for both inpatient and outpatient services. You will lead research initiatives connected to the broader objectives of the AHN Cancer Center, helping shape the future of treatment in hematology and cellular therapy.

Position Highlights:
• Work alongside an administrative director to oversee a team of 13 physicians, 18 advanced practice providers, and dedicated nursing and research staff.
• Engage in mentoring trainees within our Hematology/Oncology fellowship program.
• Utilize cutting-edge technology including in-house CAR-T production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Articulate and implement a strategic vision that inspires and drives achievement.
• Foster a collaborative environment focused on excellence in patient care.
• Proactively identify challenges and initiate solutions to enhance service delivery.
• Integrate value-based care metrics to improve quality outcomes.
• Mentor and develop the physician staff and support teams.
• Manage the assessment and treatment plans for patients with hematological conditions.
• Ensure compliance with all quality assurance and accreditation standards for the division and specialty laboratories.
• Participate in both regional and national conferences, building connections in the field.
• Contribute to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows while participating in on-call duties as necessary.
• Advance clinical research activities, including trials and publication of findings.

Qualifications:
• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified in Hematology and/or Oncology.
• Completion of an ACGME-approved Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania before the start of employment.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in hematology/oncology.
• Expertise in diagnosing and managing hematological malignancies and cellular therapies.
• Exceptional clinical judgment and strong communication skills.
• A commitment to enhancing patient care and education.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven leadership experience in clinical or research settings.
• Track record of involvement in clinical research.
• Results-oriented management style that embraces collaboration.
