Oralight is an early-stage medical technology company developing dosimetry-driven light therapy to prevent and treat oral mucositis, a painful and debilitating complication of cancer therapy. Our mission is to translate rigorous science into practical, patient-centered clinical solutions that improve outcomes and quality of life for patients undergoing cancer treatment, including children and other high-risk populations.
Oralight works closely with clinicians, researchers, and industry partners to advance its technology toward clinical adoption and commercialization.
The Opportunity
Oralight is seeking an experienced Fractional CEO (part-time, with the potential to expand as financing milestones are achieved) to help lead the company through its next stage of development. This is a hands-on leadership role for an entrepreneurial healthcare executive who can translate strategy into execution and, most importantly, lead the company’s fundraising efforts and accelerate progress toward its next financing and value-creating milestones.
The role will focus on institutional fundraising, strategic partnerships, and commercialization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong network across healthcare, medical technology, investors, and industry, along with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in an early-stage environment and create value with limited resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company’s fundraising strategy, including investor positioning, outreach, relationship development, financing activities, and preparation for the company’s next institutional financing.
- Set and execute the company’s near-term strategic priorities and value-creating milestones.
- Develop and advance strategic partnerships with healthcare organizations, manufacturers, and strategic industry partners.
- Represent Oralight with investors, strategic partners, and industry organizations.
- Help establish the organizational, financial, and operational foundation needed for the company’s next phase of growth.
- Work closely with founders and advisors to identify opportunities, solve critical challenges, and drive execution.
Ideal Background
- Senior leadership experience in medical devices, medtech, biotechnology, healthcare, or a related field, ideally within an early-stage company.
- Demonstrated success raising institutional venture or strategic capital for an early-stage healthcare or technology company.
- Experience taking healthcare technology from development through clinical translation, regulatory milestones, and/or commercialization.
- Experience with one or more of healthcare partnerships, manufacturing, reimbursement, market access, or commercialization.
- Existing network of relevant investors, healthcare organizations, strategic industry partners, and/or other key stakeholders is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategy while remaining highly hands-on in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Oncology, pediatric oncology, oral mucositis, or supportive cancer care experience is a plus.
- Advanced degree in business, medicine, life sciences, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

In the initial phase, the Fractional CEO will help Oralight:
- Establish a clear path to the company’s next major value-creating milestones.
- Lead the fundraising strategy and secure the company’s next institutional financing.
- Advance high-value commercial, manufacturing, and strategic industry partnerships.
- Position Oralight for its next stage of financing, clinical development, and growth.
Location: Flexible / Remote (U.S. Preferred)
Position: Fractional CEO Part-Time
Compensation: Meaningful equity participation with limited initial cash compensation, reflecting the company’s current financing stage. Cash compensation will increase as fundraising milestones are achieved.
