Intermountain Health is expanding its state-of-the-art Radiation Oncology services and is looking for an ABR-certified or board-eligible Medical Physicist to become a key part of our innovative team.
This role offers an incredible opportunity to be at the forefront of cancer care while shaping the future of a growing oncology program. Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and fellow physicists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered treatment across multiple sites.
You will share responsibilities with a team of Medical Physicists to support three advanced treatment facilities: Logan Regional Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital, and Layton Hospital. This position promises a variety of clinical experiences, professional collaboration, and the chance to positively impact a diverse patient population. Occasional travel between facilities will foster strong connections with colleagues throughout the region.

• Accreditation: ASTRO-APEX accredited.
• Software: Aria R&V and Eclipse v16.1 TPS with plans to upgrade to V18.2 by the end of 2026.
• QA Tools: Utilize Sun Nuclear SRS MapCheck, IC Profiler, and 1D scanning tank alongside Varian Portal Dosimetry and Radformation tools.
Essential Functions:
• Oversee the calibration of radiation therapy equipment in compliance with the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) standards and collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) on brachytherapy procedures.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and AAPM standards for all therapeutic radiation machines.
• Coordinate with Chief Therapist to ensure accurate execution of simulation and treatment plans.
• Provide routine clinical radiation therapy physicist services and assist in developing radiation treatment plans.
• Manage radioactive Materials Licenses with the RSO and spearhead equipment research and procurement.
• Engage in the department's Quality Improvement Plan and participate in tech rotations among facilities.
• Promote the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health.
• Conduct staff training, serve as Radiation Safety Officer, and collaborate on policy writing as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Health or Medical Physics from an accredited institution.
• Certification from the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology Physics or the Canadian College of Medical Physics.
• State licensure as required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to visualize and read information, labels, and operate monitors.
• Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication and quick responsiveness, especially in emergencies.
• Manual dexterity for operating delicate equipment and frequent computer use.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer patients, and manage various supplies and equipment.
• Capability to walk and assist in transporting patients.
• Potential to stand for extended periods.
• For roles that require driving: ability to operate a vehicle safely.
