Location: Rectangle Triangle Park, NC



Pay: $30 to $40/hour



Experience: 3 years of relevant laboratory experience.



Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology, toxicology, cell biology, or a related biomedical discipline.



Type: Full-time; Contract-to-hire



Schedule: Monday - Friday



Greene Resources is seeking a hands-on Cell Biology Specialist & Lab Coordinator
to support a growing in vitro toxicology research program. This position combines mammalian cell culture and cell-based laboratory work with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day laboratory operations.



Responsibilities





- Perform hands-on mammalian cell culture using human cell lines and other in vitro models.
- Support in vitro toxicology studies across multiple organ and tissue systems.
- Conduct standard ELISA and multi-well plate-based cell viability and cytotoxicity assays.
- Collect and process samples using common cellular and molecular biology techniques.
- Translate research protocols into clear standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Review and improve existing protocols and SOPs for clarity, consistency, and reproducibility.
- Document experimental methods in narrative form for technical reports and manuscripts.
- Coordinate experimental schedules, equipment availability, and project-related laboratory activities.
- Manage laboratory inventory, supply ordering, equipment records, calibration documentation, and routine equipment maintenance.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and compliant laboratory records.
- Collaborate with senior researchers in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Provide occasional evening or weekend support when required by study time points or cell-culture schedules.





Required Qualifications





- Substantial, recent, hands-on mammalian cell culture experience.
- Strong aseptic technique and experience maintaining, feeding, passaging, and monitoring cell cultures.
- Experience following detailed research protocols and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to organize multiple experiments, timelines, supplies, and laboratory priorities.
- Strong documentation, scientific writing, and communication skills.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and flexibility to support occasional time-sensitive studies.
- Substantial hands-on graduate research experience may be considered, although post-bachelor’s or post-graduate industry experience is preferred.





Preferred Qualifications





- Experience generating or maintaining primary human air-liquid interface (ALI) respiratory models.
- Experience with induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based models.
- Experience working with antibiotic-free mammalian cell cultures.
- Experience with standard ELISA and multi-well plate-based cell viability or cytotoxicity assays.
- Cell culture experience across multiple cell lines.
- Experience with nucleic acid or protein extraction, qPCR, or immunoblotting.
- Experience using in vitro models for chemical research or toxicity testing.
- Familiarity with experimental design, data analysis, GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, or Smartsheet.
- Experience coordinating laboratory workflows and supporting efficient laboratory operations.
