Biotech Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your expertise in biotech data governance could directly shape how AI understands and works with clinical and research data at the highest level of rigor? We're looking for a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that research and clinical trial data is accurate, traceable, compliant, and ready to power scientific discovery, regulatory filings, and advanced AI-driven analytics.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced professionals in life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments who want meaningful, high-impact work on their own terms.

What You'll Do
- Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
- Define and enforce data policies for classification, access, security, and metadata across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
- Enable secure, governed access to data for analytics, innovation, and external collaborations while safeguarding confidential and patient-related information
- Collaborate with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data standards, workflows, and quality expectations
- Support AI training initiatives by ensuring that life sciences data meets the highest standards of integrity and trustworthiness
Who You Are
- Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs in biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments
- Deeply familiar with data privacy, security, compliance, and regulatory expectations for research and clinical trial data
- Comfortable working across scientific, technical, and business teams to drive alignment on data standards
- Naturally detail-oriented with a systematic, rigorous approach to data quality and traceability
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
- Familiarity with AI model development pipelines or how training data quality impacts model performance
- Background in regulatory submissions, GxP compliance, or clinical data management
- Experience with metadata frameworks, data cataloguing tools, or governance platforms
