Experteer Overview
As part of the Oncology Data Science team, you will help build and maintain FAIR oncology reference datasets, bridging data engineering with computational biology. You’ll modernize data curation, automate workflows, and ensure data assets are reliable for downstream scientific use. Collaborating across teams, you’ll drive scalable data practices and AI-enabled improvements to support oncology data strategy and decision-making.
Compensation / Benefits
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate data processes and modernize curation workflows
• Develop and enhance automated data processing, quality control, and recurring dataset updates
• Collaborate cross-functionally to curate and improve key oncology reference datasets for quality and reproducibility
• Contribute to reference dataset lifecycle management, including documentation, versioning, and traceable updates
• Assess data structure, integrity, and suitability for downstream use; address data quality issues with partners
• Contribute to best practices for reproducible workflows, data handling, and scalable dataset operations
• Maintain current, usable, and responsive oncology reference datasets aligned with evolving priorities
Tasks
• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• Experience with omics datasets in a research setting
• Proficiency in Python or R
• Experience with data wrangling, quality control, and reproducible workflows
• Familiarity with workflow automation and scripting for data tasks
• Knowledge of database principles and good data modeling, including normalization and keys
• Experience with version control and Unix/Linux environments
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; collaborative attitude
• Excellent communication across technical and scientific teams
