Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting adults in a low intensity resident substance abuse treatment program. Working within a small team of 1 to 5 members, the technician provides patient observation, behavioral support, and crisis intervention with moderate autonomy. They assist in treatment processes, maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR), and contribute to ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.



Responsibilities


- Observe patients and monitor behavioral changes
- Provide behavioral support and engage patients in treatment activities
- Intervene effectively during crises to ensure patient safety
- Document patient interactions and progress in the EHR system
- Assist clinical staff with treatment plans and therapeutic activities
- Communicate clearly with team members about patient status and concerns
- Monitor safety and report any risks promptly
- Collaborate within a small multidisciplinary team environment
- Collect and record relevant patient data accurately




Preferred Qualifications


- Entry-level experience in behavioral health settings
- High School Diploma or GED
- Training or experience in crisis intervention and behavioral assessment
- Proficient in patient documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team and demonstrate emotional resilience
- Skills in conflict resolution and basic first aid
- Demonstrated empathy towards patients
