Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Audiologist/Hearing Aid Specialist role. The specialist conducts comprehensive hearing evaluations, including audiometric testing, hearing screenings, and tinnitus assessments. Daily responsibilities include explaining test results, recommending appropriate hearing aid or tinnitus solutions, and fitting, programming, and verifying hearing aids and assistive devices. The role involves providing counseling and education to patients and families on hearing health, device use, and follow-up care. The specialist also completes documentation, coordinates with other healthcare professionals when needed, and supports practice operations such as patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and occasional community outreach events.
Qualifications
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Audiologist or Hearing Aid Specialist in the state of practice.
- Graduate degree in Audiology (AuD or master’s) or relevant certification in hearing instrument dispensing, or equivalent professional training.
- Experience with comprehensive hearing assessments, hearing aid fitting and verification, and tinnitus management is strongly preferred.
- Strong patient communication and counseling skills, with the ability to explain clinical information in clear, supportive language.
- Comfort with using hearing aid software, diagnostic equipment, and electronic health records; basic computer proficiency required.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with consistent, accurate documentation and follow-through on patient care plans.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small clinical team and build long-term relationships with patients in a community setting.
- Commitment to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, and staying current with hearing aid and tinnitus treatment advances.
