Medical Science Liaison, Oncology (Breast/Gyn Focus) – Mid-South (TN/GA/NC/SC)
Responsibilities
• Maintain continuous learning to provide unbiased, accurate, up-to-date medical/scientific information.
• Spend majority of time on customer-facing activities; serve as primary interface between Lilly Medical and SEs/CEs.
• Connect SEs/CEs with internal Lilly resources/partners and facilitate collaborative research/external opportunities.
• Demonstrate territory strategic analysis, planning, prioritization; implement/evaluate a territory plan; use territory analytics for customer identification/routing.
• Synthesize and communicate actionable customer/clinical insights to internal and cross-functional teams; use good judgment and escalat[e] issues as appropriate.
• Execute role compliantly and contribute to team goals.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
• Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD or medically related field) with 2–3 years relevant clinical/therapeutic experience desired.
• Valid US driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• US work authorization required (Lilly will not sponsor visas).
• Alternative: bachelor’s/master’s health science degree considered with 5+ years clinical/research/industry experience in relevant therapeutic area.
Additional Skills/Preferences
• Strong preference: oncology experience in Breast/Gynecology Oncology; hospital or outpatient patient experience.
• Intellectual curiosity; ability to comprehend complex scientific content and communicate clearly.
• Experience servicing customers with complex information; handle demanding/difficult clients.
• Self-management, multitasking, teamwork/interpersonal skills; advanced presentation/computer skills; literature identification/evaluation.
• Professional networking; field-based environment experience; familiarity with academic community/medical research & education.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
Additional Information
• Ideal residence:
Atlanta, Charlotte, or Nashville area (hub airport access).
• Travel overnight up to 50–70%; work 4–6 weekends/year.
• Compensation: $151,500–$268,400; bonus eligibility.
