Job Purpose
Cerberus is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join our Firm’s Sales Operations team which supports Capital Formation efforts. You will own the creation of fundraising materials and analytics/investor responses for the Cerberus fundraising group and serve as a senior point of contact for complex investor requests. You will support the business through the creation of high-quality, accurate and thoughtful responses to incoming investor questions, including RFPs, Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) and ad-hoc investor requests with respect to fundraising and account maintenance. You will assist with the ODD process and on-site/virtual ODD meetings.
The role requires deep private equity industry and product knowledge, excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will take ownership of complex investor requests, liaise closely with multiple business areas and senior stakeholders, and bring a continuous-improvement mindset to the firm’s sales operations processes and systems, while applying an in-depth knowledge of Cerberus’ products and strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of a DDQ automation process, partnering with IT and cross-functional teams to enhance the firm’s tools and systems and drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across investor responses
- Partner with the Lending and Asset Backed Opportunities Group as support along with ESG, Legal, Compliance, and other operational groups across the firm to market our funds/strategies
- Manage investor requests for information as part of the fundraising process
- Write tailored, persuasive, and high-quality responses to RFPs to support the firm’s global fundraising effort
- Utilize the firm’s tools and databases as well as collaborate with teams across the organization to craft well positioned and customized responses
- Develop a strong knowledge of the firm’s strategies, investment approach and operational/support functions to effectively respond to prospective investor requests
- Contribute to a structured and organized RFP process that incorporates stakeholder inputs and strict deadlines
- Complete monthly or quarterly recurring DDQs and RFPs for existing investors
- Drive and champion process improvements across the team and broader firm, while mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Targeting individuals with 7-10 years of experience supporting fundraising/sales efforts with previous investor relations experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement and technology/automation initiatives in partnership with IT and cross-functional teams
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail in writing and editing documents
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong work ethic
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn and to apply knowledge
- Ability to develop relationships and build credibility with different stakeholders across the firm
Compensation
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000.00 and $190,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus [which is often a meaningful portion of the compensation package], and a robust benefits package.
