Assistant or Associate Professors
The Marlene & Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) and the School of Medicine (UMSOM) are recruiting four tenure track Assistant to Associate Professors with expertise in the below disciplines. The successful candidate will be a member of the UMGCCC and will hold an appointment in an academic department in the UMSOM. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent and at least 4 years of relevant faculty‑level experience. All applicants are encouraged, but preference will be given to individuals who have already been successful in obtaining significant research funding.

Position #03-303-162: Tumor Immunology & Immunoengineering
Rigorously trained with high‑impact discovery in basic science including immunology and inflammation in cancer development and therapy, or in immunoengineering. Priority will be given to funded early‑career tumor immunologists (MD/PhD or PhD) with focused research interests in solid tumor immunotherapy.
Position #03-334-004: Cancer Therapeutics
Focus is on identifying and studying molecular targets that inform the development of strategies and treatments to improve therapeutic outcomes in high‑priority cancer areas, working, participating, and collaborating with researchers in CT and the other programs in UMGCCC as necessary, as well as relevant clinicians within the CT program. Participating, informing, and being informed by the Translational Working Group of the cancer center will be a relevant component of helping strengthen the CT program.
Position #03-334-005: Cancer Biology
CB aims to hire a researcher with a research focus in any area of cancer biology, including cancer genomics and epigenetics, informatics, tumor initiation, evolution, microenvironment, and metastasis, intrinsic and acquired treatment resistance, and target identification with the potential to develop diagnostic markers and novel therapeutics. Areas of interest: expertise in developing strategies to improve diagnosis, inform treatment, and evaluate treatment response.
Position #03-307-180: Population Science
The PS Program seeks to recruit a cancer epidemiologist with expertise in cancer disparities and integrative population data science. The investigator will advance causal inference and methodological rigor in observational cancer research, including approaches such as target trial emulation and methods addressing time‑varying exposures and confounding. Areas of interest include statistical epidemiology, cancer predisposition including obesity, alcoholism, aging, structural and social determinants of cancer disparities, and the integration of cohort, EHR, genomic, and neighborhood data. The successful candidate will strengthen research across the PS Program aims: cancer epidemiology and genomics, cancer prevention and early detection, and cancer outcomes.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent and at least 4 years of relevant faculty experience.
Salary Range
Expected salary range: $125,000 to $184,500.
