Advanced Practice Provider - Radiation Oncology

WashU in St. Louis is seeking a passionate and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join its world-class Radiation Oncology team. As an essential member of the multidisciplinary outpatient clinic team, the APP will provide comprehensive care to individuals diagnosed with cancer, guiding them from initial diagnosis through acute treatment and survivorship. This role offers a unique opportunity to immerse in a variety of oncology specialties with a structured, intensive clinical orientation and direct mentorship from department experts.

Practice Info

• Outpatient clinic setting within Radiation Oncology at WashU in St. Louis

• Main clinic location is at the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM)

• Regional network clinics include North County, West County, South County, and Illinois

• Multidisciplinary outpatient clinic team structure

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview, and examination

• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies, and provides preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care

• Provides direct treatment and management of acute and chronic disease conditions and develops patient-centered care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team

• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families concerning disease management, complication prevention, and quality of life improvement

• Monitors and ensures accuracy of patient medical records while maintaining required reports, records, and statistics

• Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral and performs diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations

• Champions the safety and quality of care for patients using ITB therapy and serves as an expert in the care and management of ITB pumps

• Provides management services for clinical research study projects and monitors participating subjects

Compensation

• Salary Range: $97,000 - $174,600 / Annually

Shift & Schedule

• Scheduled Hours: 40

• Monday through Friday clinic hours, with no nights, weekends, or call

• Weekly schedule is a 4x10 schedule (4 working days, 1 day off per week)

Requirements

• Master's degree

• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program

• Advanced Practical Nurse licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire

• Physician Assistant: Graduate of PA program

• Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, or ability to obtain within three months of date of hire

• Basic Life Support certification with a skills assessment component

• Preferred Education: Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies

• Preferred Certifications: Advanced Practice Nurse or Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from Illinois or Missouri departments of financial and professional registration
