Advanced Clinical Assistant/Scribe

Summary:

Our physical medicine and rehabilitation practice treats patients with musculoskeletal and neurological disabilities. We are seeking a clinical medical assistant to join our stimulating and engaging team. The clinical medical assistant position is a tremendous opportunity for motivated individuals considering a career in medicine and health-related fields.

Responsibilities:


- Transcribe clinical notes and physical examinations
- Prepare patients and rooms for procedures
- Assist physician during injections and electromyography studies
- Perform nerve conduction studies
- Manage patient prescriptions
- Coordinate front desk activities such as scheduling and managing questionnaires and consent forms
- Respond to phone calls and faxes
- Help navigate worker's compensation claims alongside patients


Requirements:


- Macbook computer required
- Must be able to work onsite 2-3 days a week and/or 2-3 days remote.
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and medical terminology
- Strong written and oral communication
- Advanced Microsoft Word skills
- Advanced Macintosh OS skills
- Bachelors of Science in biology, physiology, neurology, or related field is highly recommended
- Position starts as a part time position, up to 20 hours per week with full time work a possibility as need arises.


Experience:


- Prior work experience, 1 year in a clinical setting preferred
- Previous leadership position (work or school)
- Basic pharmacology knowledge

Benefits:


- Pay starts at $21, potential raise after 3 month review with reviews periodically thereafter
- Health stipend starting after 3 month review, stipend disbursement would be every 3 months and based on average hours worked
