Job Description
Join a Leading Academic Surgical Oncology Program
Position Overview:
The Department of Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated and fellowship-trained surgical oncologist for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery. You will play a crucial role in managing patients with a diverse range of complex surgical oncology conditions at the Loma Linda University Cancer Center and its network of affiliated clinics, supported by a full team of multidisciplinary specialists.
We are looking for candidates who are committed to research and education, as you will work closely with medical students, residents, and fellows. The Department currently trains one Complex General Surgical Oncology fellow and one International Surgical Oncology fellow each year. Our Division of Surgical Oncology encompasses both Complex General and Breast Surgical Oncology faculty within a Commission on Cancer accredited academic cancer program.
Your primary responsibilities will be based at our main campus in Loma Linda, with additional services provided 48 miles away in Apple Valley, CA. This collaborative role with the Division Chief allows for equitable sharing of responsibilities within the Division, helping to address access barriers in this underserved region.
We offer state-of-the-art resources, including nine robotic platforms optimized for various surgical resections. Our program also includes capabilities for managing peritoneal surface malignancy, administering hepatic arterial infusion therapy, and participating in clinical trials. You will benefit from our advanced facilities, including collaboration with highly specialized units in Advanced Endoscopy and Interventional Radiology.
With a commitment to education, our Division is one of only five ACGME accredited Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowships in California. We also provide regular training opportunities for international candidates, addressing the global surgical oncology workforce deficiency.
Leadership opportunities abound within our Division, and we encourage women and underrepresented surgeons to apply. Candidates must possess appropriate board certification and licensure.
